THE MARKS OF WISDOM!!

“A WISE [MAN] will HEAR, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:” (Prov. 1:5)

One of the marks of wisdom is the ability to listen. It is more difficult to listen than to talk. This is because we like talking especially about ourselves, what we can do, our achievements, wealth, the revelations we can give and all dynamics of spirituality we can possess. But what really makes a good listener wise is because listening helps you to understand.

One word missing from a sentence can lead to confusion and misunderstanding. I have one very good friend of mine James who is here in the UK and from Sierra Leone, very brilliant yet faithful and humble. One very good thing I always like about Him is his reference for God and wisdom, and also he listens, not just to me but to anyone who speaks wisdom. when I was in senior high school; I also had a brilliant classmate Obed who only copied his notes after class. He usually sat in front of the class despite all the insults hailed at him listening attentively and asking questions. He always taught the “note takers” after class because he understood. Sometimes I had to beg him to teach me over and over again even though I took notes in class.

Understanding leads to attainment, which means to reach a certain point or level. Many are talking busily to Jesus without finding time to listen. So evident in our prayer meetings and chritianity of today, everybody wants quick breakthroughs and miracles without even making time to listen to God after prayer to create an atmosphere for us to listen to God. Note; it is very important to hear the voice of the lord in these times.

LET’S TAKE SOME TIME TO HEAR WHAT THE MASTER TEACHER HAS TO SAY ABOUT OUR LIFE, RELATIONSHIPS, MARRIAGES, FUTURE,  BUSINESS, AND CHALLENGES AND WE WILL ATTAIN NEW HEIGHTS!

  1. Thanks very much Prof. for your words of wisdom and encouragement. This is a classic example of simple human living and Gods love. True words will always fall on fertile soil and yield forth fruits. Wisdom they say, help you to walk instead of crawl, run instead of walk and fly instead of run.
Meeting you have help me deepen my spiritual standing as I always remember these words from the Bible:
"Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through a prophetic message when the body of elders laid their hands on you" (1 Timothy 4:14)
