Musings: The Ghana today

Greetings everyone, today I want to share some findings about what happens in our societies all around the world using Ghana as a prototype.

The Ghana today operates like this................ 

The poor runs to church for help and some pastors will take the little they have left by fake miracles and lying prophecies to enrich themselves while the poor goes hungry.

Someone defrauds you and you run to the police to assist you, some policemen demand moneys from the little you are fighting for till you are left with so little or even nothing.

If you are sick and you go the the hospital, the bad attitude of some nurses will make you even more sick.

If you feel cheated and go to court over an issue, some judges will take bribes and even cheat you the more.

An MP promises to fix your roads if you vote for him. You go to him after he wins the seat and he tells you he doesn't fix roads.

You take your child to school to be taught and some teachers would be sleeping with her.

The people pay the taxes but some politicians have become the beneficiaries.

Your child comes out with good grades from school and yet you still have to pay your way through.

Everyone is a pastor or a prophet and they are everywhere.

Unqualified people are given higher national portfolios while the qualified and competent are denied the opportunity to serve their country.

when you have nothing, nobody wants to be friends, but when something great happens to you all your lost friends immediately get found.

The Church Is Gradually Loosing its Focus & Essence - Thomas Yeboah

 It is estimated that the world’s population hovers around 7.2biliion as at 2012. Out of this number, only 2.2 billion are Christians. And even with this figure, it is reported that majority are not Christ centered while many have also been presented with salvation message that does not depict the unconditional love that God has revealed to the world through Christ Jesus. What is more shocking is that of the 5billion people majority have not even heard about the name of Jesus and him being crucified.

 

Notwithstanding this, the commitment of the church –I mean the body of Christ to issues of evangelism is waning down and in some churches the issue of evangelism is not on priority list. This is not to discredit many who are committed to soul winning and evangelism. But what is problematic is the fact that, now the church has become a place where people go to, in order to obtain solutions to their problems in life. 

Of course the salvation package include deliverance from any difficulty and challenges that  we face as Jesus himself said it when he hanged on the cross that it is finished-meaning all our difficulties have come to an end by means of his death. But we forget is the main reason why we are saved- ensuring that our salvation leads to the salvation of others.

Indeed, if your salvation does not lead to the salvation of others, I see it that your salvation is meaningless. Few will disagree with me that this issue now receives less attention in the church. The church has completely lost the focus of soul winning. Now is all about healing, praying for visas to travel and other personal things and comfort that we want to enjoy. But is this the original intent of God for the church? Few will probably disagree with me that when you visit many churches (body of Christ) today and see the number of people in evangelism department very sad, only few people. 

More importantly, if there is a church programme and it is about prophetic night or breakthrough night, you will see a fully packed church. However if the programme is dubbed soul winning or something to do with evangelism, it will be difficult to even get half of the church members attending. 

What really account for this situation? We have lost focus as a church. God has made all the provisions for the salvation of the whole human race. What is left is the commitment of every individual in the church who is saved to respond to this call.

CHURCH JOKES!

This is a real story that happened in the KUTU'S international church Ghana Sunyani New town. There lived a poor boy of age 23. This boy had been an orphan since infancy. The boy was very religious and always sleeps in the church premises. One day after his usual bedtime prayers his late grandmother appeared to him and gave him 5 numbers to stake. The boy became confuse and wondered how a Christian child will stake lotto, so he decided to consult his pastor. When he informed the pastor, the pastor told him it was the plan of the devil. He said the devil is trying to make you sin. He even added if the lord will bless you it will not be through lottery. So the pastor collected the number to pray over it.
The next morning the boy heard from a local radio that all the numbers given to him by his late grandmother dropped, so he ran straight to his pastor office to inform him.
The boy: Pastor all the numbers dropped last night.
The Pastor: Are you really Sure.
The Boy: Yes, i heard it myself.
The Pastor: The Pastor then Jumped with excitement and shouted i am now a billionaire. I have broken the lottery machine.
